I woke up BRIGHT and early this morning. A good 4 am start to my Christmas day! I realized I had forgotten just a few items like a hairbrush and my watch and my Ipod charger....ahh. But alas - all will is well. I found a charger in the recesses of my car (surprising where you can find stuff), borrowed a brush from my mom, and I'll just have to buy a new watch in Jerusalem...shucks. Well, we load into the car and head off to the airport. Good start. Only to find that our eagerness was a little unneeded. Yeah our flight - delayed - for 2 hours. So that means because we were so prepared and eager we get to sit in the fabulous D gates for 4 hours. Not entertaining. Thank goodness for laptops and wi-fi or else I might have died. Not only that, but there are NO lines on Christmas day at the airport. We breezed through security. Which trust me is a feat with my wonderful mom! lol She's our own little "Robocop" with titanium knee caps so she gets the fabulous pat down each and everytime. But even with that brief stop we were done with security and at our gate within 15 minutes of arriving at the airport. Wahoo.
So here I am sitting in the D gates. I'm thoroughly excited for the trip, not so much for the 20 hours of travel time. But I'm ready to engulf myself in the life of Christ and hopefully come back a changed person. I'll miss all my friends and family for the next 10 days. I'll miss the birth of baby Aaron (sad) and who knows what other good stuff that will happen while I'm gone. But I hope everyone has a great holiday and has lots of fun...and of course hope that they will miss me terribly while I'm gone.
