Well I have to say it's amazing what you can accomplish in one weekend. Good news is we were able to find a stellar deal on an adorable little house in Pollock Pines to use for vacations/relaxation. The house definitely needed some work though. The previous owners OBVIOUSLY had animals because the entire house reeked of urine. It had old cracking tile countertops in the kitchen and peeling linoleum and nice retro looking bathrooms and a severely damaged garage door. But in a matter of 3 days you wouldn't recognize it now. The kitchen now has gorgeous dark green granite with full backsplash, the walls are all painted, new high baseboards, hardwood flooring and new carpet for the bedrooms, a new garage door, new gutters, etc. The quiet little house that has been vacant for a year suddenly came to life with busy-ness and it was fun to watch the neighbors come and 'walk their dog' as SLOW as possible to see what was happening.
We're not done yet, but it is already a totally different house and it will be amazing when we're finished. I can't wait to relax there and have family celebrations, etc. Lots of memories to be made.
Update on Biggest Loser: since my wedding day I have now lost 18 pounds. I always said I didn't want to get married and "let myself go" so I feel pretty proud that in the first year of marriage I not only kept weight off but I lost. =) Still have one more week to go in the competition. I'm pretty sure I won't win, but great news is that my friend Jen has a really good chance...she's currently #1 and I hope she can hold on to that lead for one more week! She's looking great!
