So at church I have two callings. And I have to say...I got the BEST two callings that you could possibly have. I mean really - I couldn't have planned it better myself. My first calling is Assistant Activity days leader. I work with a woman I truly admire - Toni - who is just a good model of the kind of mom/wife I hope I can be. She's kind, put together, great relationship with her kids, her house is immaculate and of course awesomely decorated (and new decorations for like every holiday). How are women that perfect? She's an awesome Activity days leader for these girls and its just fun to work with her. We have the 8 year olds and they are a total hoot. I love hanging out with them.
My second calling is truly a calling that I would have asked for it they would have let me. Girl's Camp Director!!! And also in charge of sports for the Young Women. I'm so excited for camp it's ridiculous! I mean seriously people the calling couldn't be more perfect for me, my interests, and my personality. I had my first stake meeting last night and it looks like it is just going to be sooo much fun. I hope I can plan some extra cool stuff for just our ward so that they love camp as much as I did. Time to get planning! Sports is not exactly my forte but I can at least play a little so I'm having fun cheering the girls on. I LOVE young women....seriously...such a fun group of girls and we have awesome girls in our ward. They love each other and they have a blast together. The Presidency is amazing as well.
So through my two callings I finally feel like I'm a part of this ward now...and I'm making lots of great friends not only with the ladies I'm working with, but also with the moms of my girls. I'm busy with two callings, but honestly ---- SOOO happy to have both of them. Definitely made a difference in my adjustment to life in California. All I needed was a few friends. YEAH!
