I'm going to die

that's right. So I just realized my triathlon is a mere 19 days away. I've determined I might die. lol. Well probably not. I'm going to do some open water swimming this weekend and see if I'm going to drown or not. Honestlt that's the only part I'm really worried about. Swimming in open water is MUCH different than a pool AND let's be honest...it's 800 meters. I mean that's like 16 laps in the pool. Granted I can do 16 laps in the pool but I'm exhausted AND again...open water people. Not to mention - I just remembered that I have a slight fear of swimming in anything I can't see the bottom of. And Lake Mead - not clear. If I don't die of exhaustion I might die of pure fright. haha.

Why do I sign up to do these things that are terrifying to me? I totally am pumped and excited until it comes around and I suddenly remember...oh yeah - that's scares me. I'm a dufus is the answer. It's true. Total dufus. So while I'm at it...I signed up to go skydiving. Yep - June 6th I will be jumping out of a plane to commemorate my 27th birthday. I'm remembering now that I'm kind of afraid of heights. But oh well. I'll have someone who doesn't want to die strapped to my back so I'm sure they will pull the cord if I pass out or have a heart attack.

The stupid things we do...or I do...simply because I have nothing better to do with my time. My family and my co-workers all think I'm crazy - they are probably right. So in the meantime I have 19 days to get over my fears of the lochness monster (or some mutated water-breathing zombie) rising from the bottom of Lake Mead and eating my feet. I blame my brothers - I'm sure they planted those horrible images in my head as a child...when all else fails...blame the brothers. =)
